Weekend Getaway to Manesar !

What a fantastic weekend I had :-) Mom n dad took me to Heritage Resorts at Manesar (about an hour's drive from south Delhi).

The place is built in Rajasthani old fort style, wish a large lawn in the center and 2 pools (one for the kids and one for the adults). Mind you, I had a fabulous time in both the pools :-) well, cos I am just so super-cool !

The rooms were beautiful and i enjoyed a lot of cartoons in the afternoon..had a lavish lunch at the Restaurant...did a LOT of running around and tried to catch the birds and even chameleons in the lawn ! What fun !

In the evening there was a folk dance n music program next to the pool, where i too danced with the troupe. It was hilarious but what a blast !!! I did fall a few times and hurt my face, head etc but who cares ! i was thoroughly enjoying my time-out.

Mom n Dad then took me to Ambience mall in Gurgaon the next day, where we had lunch at a jungle Safari restaurant; which had life-size elephants, giraffes, monkeys, crocodiles, turtles and a forest like atmosphere..I even enjoyed a lot of rides in the kid's play area - Fun City.

Did you take your brake yet ? If yes, where did u go...do share !

When you like your work every day is a holiday!

Hurray Hurray, its a holi-holiday!
Yeah...thats right Summer breaks are here and no more going to bed 'early' or waking up drowsy :-) I am thoroughly enjoying my summer holidays, although i must admit the Delhi heat is quiet killing (its already a touched 45 degree mark) !

so ive been doing lots of cool activities at home to kill my time fruitfully ;-) like paper-machie, planting pots (and playing with gooey soil n water) and painting !!! Ive recently discovered the magical tool 'scissors' which i use to cut cut n cut everything in sight. Was once caught mid-way by mom while i was attempting to cut my own hair. Gosh, doesn't she know i was only trying to save her some bucks ! hmph..now she doesn't let me play with the scissors without her hawk-eye supervision. Damn.

to beat the heat, i take 2 or 3 or more (if nobody's looking) showers in a day. And howl if i am dragged out of the bath-tub. What fun ! But the other thing that ive recently started doing is to roam-around butt-naked <3 its the best feeling in the world ! aah... all pleas n requests from my parents n granny to wear my shorts fall on deaf ears....

Stay a child while you can be a child, is what i believe in :-)

Mother's Day

Recently celebrated Mother's Day (May-9) at school. It was LOADS of fun... everybody's parents were invited for a small get-together organised by our lovely teachers.

Mom was there with me; and we played a little in the kid's area before going to the class. We kids (Shaza, Yuvraj, Shivain and I ) gifted a bag full of cards and stuff we had made in school during the week for the upcoming event.
We had a party with cakes, cookies, lemonade, chips etc and clicked lots of pictures.

I cried a little too, cos while Mom was in the teacher's room asking some things; i assumed she had left. But she soon came back and gave me a big bear hug !

I love you Mamma, Happy Mother's day !

And here's a bonus - IndusLadies has compiled an ebook which has a database of all Mommy bloggers (http://www.indusladies.com/forums/announcements/94830-happy-mothers-day-get-our.html) !! Ain't that super cool ! All you ladies must join in too :-)

have u done your bit..little bit ?

Recently mom put up a note on her FB profile, which read -

... instead of giving coins, buy in bulk small packs of Glucose biscuits (Rs.2 / Rs.5 version). Keep them in your car, and give these to street kids when they approach u at red lights :-D I am starting this today. Will you ??

Seriously, its astonishing to see that in a country like our's lil babies still die of under-nourishment; and the one's who barely survive are ferried around at red-lights under the scorching sun. Its so sad.. Often ive seen babies, toddlers and kids staring helplessly (and hopelessly) into nothingness. Mom and ive felt so bad for them.

The biscuits / donating old clothes / left-over food / old crockery etc is one way of helping these people in our cities. I know we can't change the world / system; but we CAN try.

Any other suggestions are also welcome. We hope u do your 'little' bit for the lil ones out there.

The Good and The not so Good

Okay let me start with the 'not so good' news first...
we (me, mom, dad and a friend of my parents - Mithu mamu) went to Saket, a posh shopping complex area yesterday for lunch and shopping. The day was going really well..i played in a kids play-pen area with mom and then shopped for toys too :-) bought awesome 2 dinosaurs (papa dino and emaan dino) and a musical orchestra set (which mom regrets buying now cos of all the noise i make with it) !!

we headed for the food-court and settled in TGIF's..moments after we placed our order, there was panic n chaos all around ! on enquiry we learnt there was a Bomb call in the mall, and everyone was asked to vacate immediately !!!!
my god what frenzy... our car was inlevel 2 basement and we were so psyched out !! madness ensued, but thanks to Allah we were all safe, and nothing happened.

Now the GOOD news !!
Today was SHOW & TELL at my play-school, we had to take one of our favt belonging / toy from home and speak a sentence on it... I took both my stuffed lion and the new dino's i bought yesterday .. and guess what i performed really well 9the best in class actually) and my name with a pic was put on a star on the notice board !! above everybody else's !! Yeaaaaaa.... !

The teacher even called up Mom after school to tell her how good i was :-) hehehehe !!
Ain't that super-cooool or what ?!

Earth Day at school

It is never too early to inculcate the desire to become guardians of the
Planet. This was observed at my play-school, Kinder Plume (where I go to play...and learn in between).

The school was decorated using recycled paper and waste material was
transformed into many creative objects. My teachers (Aarti Ma'm and Divya Ma'm) along with my class fellows (Shaza, Yuvraj-1, Yuvraj-2, Shivain and myself) celebrated Earth's birthday by cutting a cake in the happy and warm environment.

There were related rhymes sung by the facilitators and we did some art and craft activities using old newspapers and transformed them into beautiful little globes which we wore around our necks... pics included above....

In essence we had a fun time, while learning valuable lessons for life.

"Ode to Emaan" .. By Rachna Vasisht Aunty

He started school this morning,
And he seemed so very small.
As I walked there beside him
In the Kindergarten hall.

And as he took his place beside
the others in the class,
I realized how all too soon
Those first few years can pass.

Remembering, I saw him as
He first learned how to walk.
The words that we alone made out
When he began to talk.

This little boy so much absorbed
In learning how to write.
It seems as though he must have grown
To boyhood overnight.

My eyes were blurred by hastily
I brushed the tears away
Lest by some word or sign of mine
I mar his first big day

Oh how I longed to stay with him
And keep him by the hand
To lead him through the places
That he couldn't understand.

And something closely kin to fear
Was mingled with my pride.
I knew he would no longer be
A baby by my side.

But he must have his chance to live,
To work his problems out,
The privilege to grow and learn
What life is all about.

And I must share my little boy
With friends and work and play;
He's not a baby anymore --
He's in Kindergarten today.

This lovely ode is by my favt 'online aunty' in Australia, who has 2 very beautiful daughters ...and i so wish they were my age ! Ahem... now coming back to the ode, Thanks a LOT aunty ! I loved it !
